Welcome to Steve's Page.
March 9th: We tried to add some fun to training today and ran a bit of a relay race. This seems to take away from the same old routine and spice it up a little with some friendly competition. The team is locked in now and focused well. I think we have a good solid team now and am anxious to see what comes out of all this training.
Feb 21 Update: got a late start due to me failing to set my alarm accordingly. Still hit the stairs hard and shaved some more time off the clock. I had a special visitor come down to watch and show support as well. thanks Mom for coming out, you even beat me to the gym lol.
Feb 18th Update: Training hard during the week, sure feels good to have a few days off. Had some sad news yesterday though. Sorry to report that a good friend lost her mom to cancer the day before yesterday. She was a great lady and will be missed dearly. This news adds to my motivation to do well for this fundraiser. A bunch of us guys have the fitbit thing going on at the station, those challenges have taken my activity levels to new hights. Yesterday I ran 11.26km on the treadmill to get ahead of a few guys before the weekly challenge deadline last night lol. Legs are feeling it today.
Just an update, we are training hard to make this a great event. Not only does this training make us ready to compete against the clock, it will make us stronger to better serve the communities we live in. It is a mental game right now, dealing with the heat build up in our gear. You want to rip it off and cool down but continue on so we can learn to be uncomfortable. That is the game. If you can live with a little heat for the race, the reward will be the cool off. I intend to make my climb as strong as I can to honor my Mom and my Brother in Law.
Catch you later!
